Book Review: The Principles of Something – What Moves Continents?
By: T.J. Webster
I like science, how things work, and why things are. I delved into this book eager to see what it could teach me. This book takes the reader on a journey through time and the forces of creation and destruction. It has an easily read style and yet is well-referenced. I found it led me step by step through the amazing science behind plate tectonics and the theories and laws of science that prove and disprove each. I have always seen the map of the world and the place where the continents once were attached and I was curious about when and how they separated. Within the pages, I found answers and science enough to understand it. A touch of humor here and there lightened the material and made the reading a pleasure. Science was tied to humanity and how early humans adapted and survived in a world that literally rocked to its core! The final chapters dealt with the science in how is was reported in oral history and later in written stories of Noah’s Ark and the great flood of earth. I have more questions and deep thoughts after reading this book. I found it fascinating, I think you will too!
