The Bookseller of Inverness

The research and history that is the foundation of this epic tale are as immense as the time passage since it all took place. This is classic historical fiction set in the Highlands of Scotland with the backdrop of the Scot uprising.

Each character is well developed as a historical figure of the time. The Bookseller of inverness invites you to observe the struggles of everyday life in a time of insurgency and strife. Historical fiction serves great purpose in allowing us to live in the pages of the book and feel the emotions of those in the pages of history. The personal perspective though fictionalized as such intimate records do not exist, proves a great way to deepen the understanding of the true lives that lived the ordeal.

This a a must read for those with Scottish heritage, travel desires, and historical interests. You will be wishing to pack your bags and explore this fought over turf, walk its streets and venture daringly into the landscape that saw bloody battle, heroism, loss and survival. For all that was conquered the heart of Scotland remains in the land and its people.

A memorable read that enlightened and deepened my understanding of the Battle of Culloden and the history of Scotland.
