Until Midnight By Luanne Rice

The beautiful seaside setting hides a criminal element. The intensity of the story kept me reading through day and night to solve the murder and sort the tangled relationships. Characters slip into scenes innocently as the story careens through twists and turns unexpected. By the end of my reading frenzy, I was cheering the brave voice of the author exposing under acknowledged accounts of human trafficking crimes.
Through the twisted psychotic characters, the crimes, the clues that didn’t add up, there was a balance of a strong couple with a deep love that endured the unimaginable. The glimmer and anchor of the setting at Ocean House, with the sea rhythm as a backdrop, countered the angst. Luanne Rice takes us on an emotional roller coaster in Until Midnight, a great follow up to her previous book Last Night.
